A stunning Alocasia that produces extremely large foliage. Prefers a warm spot with bright indirect light, and slightly higher humidity.
Light Requirements
These plants do well in bright environments. They must be kept out of the sun though as this will burn their leaves
Watering needs
Alocasias hold a fair amount of water in their stems so it could be detrimental if they are over watered. Allow the first 3cm of soil to dry out before watering again. They should not be allowed to sit in any water tray and this will cause the plant to rot.
Humidity requirements
High humidity is always best for these tropical plants coupled with a good amount of air flow.
Fertilizing
Try and fertilize an Alocasia at least every two to three weeks in spring and summer and hold back in the winter which is usually their dormant period. A general water-soluble fertilizer would do great.
Soil
At least every year, you will need to upsize the pot and give him a fresh mix. They require a well-draining soil mixture that has medium moisture retention.
